ABOUT BENJAMIN H LEE

BIOGRAPHY

As someone who appreciates the art of visual storytelling, I discovered the immense potential of photography to capture and convey the charm and tales of the surrounding environment a decade ago. Initially, I was drawn to landscape photography for the grandeur and natural beauty of outdoor settings. However, I soon realised my passion for seizing spontaneous moments of individuals and capturing their emotions and interactions.

As a photographer, my goal is to capture the essence of my subjects and tell their stories through visual imagery. I strive to create images that evoke an emotional response from viewers and allow them to see the world in a new light, whether it's the character of a street performer, the beauty of a landscape, or the raw emotion of a portrait subject.

Throughout my photographic career, I have achieved several distinguishable awards and have exhibited my work globally.  My photograph, There is Nothing We Can Do About the Surging Waves, was exhibited at the renowned Musee du Louvre (Louvre Museum) in Paris in 2015, Super Modern Public Telephone of Australia was exhibited in the Street Photography Exhibition at Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece, in 2021, and Chillaxin was awarded the Best Photo of the Year in Analogue category at the End-of-Year Competition at Melbourne Camera Club in 2022. Furthermore, Portrait Session with Victoria has been accepted into the 50th Warrigal National Photographic Competition in 2023.
